What Celebrity Constellation's Autumn Caribbean Season Is Actually Like
Here's the plot twist in Constellation's autumn schedule: it starts in Europe, which is a bit rude to anyone who showed up in flip-flops. The ship sails from Civitavecchia (Rome) today, 2 November, on a 15-night crossing to San Juan. That one is already under way, so it isn't a booking option. Think of it as a wave from the pier. If you're still planning, your real choices are the 11-night sailing from San Juan on 17 November and the weekly 7-nighters from 28 November. Check Celebrity's site for availability on both.
Back to the crossing, because the name is doing some creative work. Celebrity markets it as "Spain & Bermuda Transatlantic", which sounds like a Bermuda stop is on the menu. Celebrity's own itinerary listing (package code CS15T240) doesn't show one. It shows calls at Valencia, Cartagena, Málaga, Tangier and St. Maarten (Philipsburg), plus a good run of sea days, and the ship reaches San Juan on 17 November. Our own database has no port list for any of these sailings, so check Celebrity's itinerary page for the exact rotation. After the crossing, it's a Puerto Rico-based winter in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean.
A note on the "Bahamas" in our region label: none of this season's sailings show a Bahamas stop in the listings we've seen. If Nassau is the dream, you'll have to wait, and yes, we also feel misled by our own label. Cruiseweb's listings have Constellation sailing from Tampa to Nassau and Bimini from 14 November 2027.
The weather you're signing up for
Atlantic hurricane season officially runs 1 June to 30 November. It peaks mid-August to mid-October, so the 17 November and 28 November departures fall in its final stretch, and everything from 5 December onward sits outside it. Princess says early and mid-November can still bring passing showers, which is worth knowing for the 17 November sailing. Late November often offers warm weather and a calmer window before holiday travel picks up. Typical highs are in the high 70s to low 80s °F in November, and about 78–84 °F in January and February, which are among the driest months in much of the Caribbean. The sea stays in the high 70s to mid-80s °F all season. Northern islands can still get a passing shower or a cold front, so don't treat "dry season" as a promise. The Caribbean has never signed anything.
The sailings, by who they suit
| Sailing | Departs | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 15 nights, Rome to San Juan | 2 Nov 2026 (already sailing) | Not bookable now. A preview for anyone who likes Spain and Morocco plus a crossing, and who is fond of sea days |
| 11 nights, round trip San Juan | 17 Nov 2026 | Island collectors who want the Lesser Antilles in one go |
| 7 nights, round trip San Juan (12 weekly departures) | 28 Nov 2026 to 13 Feb 2027 | First-timers, and anyone whose vacation days are limited |
The 11-night sailing is the one for travellers who care about ports. Taoticket's listing for the 17 November departure shows eight ports of call: Tortola, Antigua (St. John's), St. Lucia (Castries), Grenada (St. George's), Barbados (Bridgetown), St. Vincent (Kingstown), Martinique (Fort-de-France) and Dominica (Roseau). Other listings disagree on a few stops, so check the final list. With only two sea days across the 11 nights, expect to be in a port most days and to earn your rum punch. Taoticket lists fares from $1,226 per person with taxes included. That's a starting price, so the cabin you actually want may cost more. Cabins have a way of doing that.
The seven-nighters: check your exact date
Aggregators show the weekly 7-night rotation changing by date. Some listings include St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Lucia, Dominica and Grenada. Others show Tortola, St. Kitts, Dominica, St. Lucia and Barbados, and some add Sint Maarten. Our data doesn't say which is right for which week, so check the itinerary for your specific sailing. The recurring highlights are worth knowing:
- Dominica (Roseau): rainforest, waterfalls and hot springs rather than a beach day.
- St. Lucia (Castries): a Pitons-viewing day trip, or a calmer beach day.
- Antigua: beaches and Shirley Heights if the ship stays late enough.
- Barbados, Grenada, Tortola: good beach and snorkelling stops, and Tortola is the easy one.
The quirks of this season
Late November is the quiet window: more availability and a calmer pace before holiday travel picks up. Holiday weeks change that fast. The 19 December sailing returns on 26 December, so it covers Christmas. The 26 December sailing returns on 2 January, so it covers New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Expect those two to be livelier, and compare fares carefully. The 2 January departure misses both holidays, because it leaves after New Year's Day. January and February are busier in the ports and on board. Because the ship leaves from San Juan, most guests fly in. Arrive a day early, as flight delays are common and the ship won't wait for you, however nicely you ask.
The ship itself
Constellation was built in 2002 and refurbished in 2021. She's a Millennium-class ship of 90,940 tons, carrying 2,130 passengers with 997 crew across 12 decks. She's smaller than the newest megaships, which usually means easier docking and fewer elbows in the buffet. Her latest CDC Vessel Sanitation Program score is 99 out of 100, from the inspection on 17 February 2026. See the Celebrity Constellation ship page for the overview and the CDC inspection lookup for the report history. If you're picking between a balcony and an inside cabin for the crossing, our cabin size guide will help.
