What Norwegian Getaway's Autumn Caribbean and Bahamas Season Is Actually Like

Norwegian Getaway spends the season shuttling out of Port Canaveral on short and mid-length loops. That means a Florida drive or Orlando flight, no long transatlantic faff, and a ship that has been through its 2020 refurbishment. She's a 145,655-ton, Breakaway Class ship with room for 3,969 guests, so even "quiet" November has plenty of people aboard. Her latest CDC score is 92 out of 100, from the May 8, 2026 inspection. One housekeeping note, because we're honest here: our own database doesn't hold port lists for these sailings. The ports below come from third-party listings (iCruise, Cruise Web, Cruisemapper) checked this week. Lines swap ports, so confirm with Norwegian before you book flights.

Weather and sea conditions

The Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June 1 to November 30, according to the National Hurricane Center. Activity peaks around September 10, mostly between mid-August and mid-October. By the time Getaway's late-October and November sailings roll around you're on the tail end, and every December departure falls after the season has ended. "Tail end" isn't "never," though. Late storms happen, so itinerary changes are possible. Expect warm, generally pleasant days, with typical Bahamas November highs in the low 80s°F. Sources disagree on sea temperature, but all of them put it somewhere in the high 70s to around 80°F. That's swimmable. Decks can get breezy and the occasional rain shower is normal, so pack accordingly.

The sailings and who they suit

*iCruise "priced from" fares, per person, interior cabin, double occupancy, taxes and fees included. They move constantly, so treat these as a snapshot, not a promise. Cruise Web lists the 4-night Bahamas itinerary from $209 per person, taxes included, across sailings between Nov 2, 2026 and Apr 5, 2027. That's a "from" price for the whole date range rather than a quote for Nov 2, so check the exact date you want. †The Dec 22 9-night fare is for an oceanview cabin, not an interior, so don't compare it directly with the other fares in the table. iCruise lists it at $1,219 per person, double occupancy, taxes and fees included, and Cruise Web also lists the sailing from $1,219 per person with taxes and fees included. Other sites show different figures for this sailing, so check the live price for your cabin category.

• 4 nights: first-timers and the "is this even my thing?" crowd. Nassau plus Norwegian's private island, done.
• 5 nights: the sweet spot for a long weekend plus a bit. The Oct 28, Nov 6 and Nov 11 sailings add a Dominican Republic stop in Puerto Plata. If Mexico is the draw, the Dec 4 and Dec 9 sailings both call at Cozumel (and so does the Nov 23 7-nighter).
• 7 nights: real port variety. Note that the Nov 23 sailing has Thursday, Nov 26 (Thanksgiving) in Montego Bay, so you swap turkey for jerk chicken.
• 8 and 9 nights: the Eastern Caribbean for people who want islands, not sea days. The Dec 14 8-night is back in port around Dec 22, just before Christmas week. The Dec 22 9-night is the one that runs through Christmas, so expect more families on that one.

Seasonal quirks

The cheapest fares in our table belong to the shortest sailings: the Nov 2 4-night at $189, then the Nov 30 4-night at $209, then the 5-nighters, at $309 on Oct 28, Nov 11 and Dec 9 and $319 on Nov 6. Even same-length fares wobble, though, because the Dec 4 5-night is listed at $399. Compare the Nov 16 and Dec 31 7-nighters: both are 7 nights, but the New Year's departure's "from" fare is $260 higher ($729 versus $469). Holiday premium, in full costume. Great Stirrup Cay has also had a glow-up. Norwegian's island page lists the new pier, the Great Life Lagoon heated pool and the Great Tides Waterpark as open. The waterpark is an upgraded experience at an additional cost that varies by sailing and availability, and Free at Sea shore excursion credits can't be used for admission tickets (they can go toward a cabana). What to pack
