What Carnival Jubilee's Autumn Caribbean and Bahamas Season Is Actually Like
The calendar above lists dates. This is what those dates feel like, minus the sunscreen shame. Carnival Jubilee sails from Galveston on two patterns this autumn: 8-night Bahamas loops and 6-night Western Caribbean loops. Our own database doesn't record the ports, so they come from Carnival's itinerary pages and booking-site listings, and they're below.
| Length | Listed ports | Departures (Oct 2026 – Jan 2027) |
|---|---|---|
| 8 nights | Nassau, Half Moon Cay, Celebration Key | Oct 3, Oct 17, Oct 31, Nov 14, Nov 28, Dec 18, Dec 26 |
| 6 nights | Cozumel, Isla Tropicale (formerly Mahogany Bay), Roatan | Oct 11, Oct 25, Nov 8, Nov 22, Dec 6, Dec 12, Jan 3 |
Carnival's own itinerary page for the Dec 12 6-night lays out the full day-by-day, and the Nov 22 listing matches it. Sea days fall on days 2, 5 and 6, Cozumel is on day 3 (9 a.m.–5 p.m.) and Roatan is on day 4 (9 a.m.–6 p.m.). Then it's back in Galveston at 8 a.m. on day 7. That's three sea days out of seven, so don't book the 6-night if you want a port every day. Yes, the ship will make you rest. The 8-night has three port stops too, but Carnival's page lists the ports without a daily breakdown or port times, so check the day-by-day for your exact sailing at booking before you start counting sea days. The 8-night listings agree on the three ports, but the order can change. Nov 28 is listed with Celebration Key first.
Weather and seas, month by month
- October: Still hurricane season, which officially runs June 1 to November 30, and the Gulf does not care about your vacation days. Expect mid-to-upper 80s°F and sea water around 83°F. Seas can be choppy, and an early-month storm can change plans.
- November: Storm risk drops off, and everyone exhales. Cozumel is typically low-to-mid 80s by day with evenings in the low 70s, and sea temperatures are around 81–82°F. Galveston runs about 71°F highs and 61°F lows.
- December: The drier pattern arrives, and the Caribbean is at its most comfortable. Galveston is the dramatic outlier, with average highs around 65°F and lows around 54°F. You can board in a hoodie and be in shorts by the second day, like a very slow costume change.
What the ports are worth
Cozumel is the reason to pick the 6-night. Reef snorkelling, Mayan ruins at San Gervasio and beach parks like Chankanaab are all on offer. Isla Tropicale, the Roatan port Carnival renamed from Mahogany Bay, is a purpose-built cruise center with a free beach and a nature walk. It gets crowded when several ships are in. Carnival has you in port from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., so settle on your beach or excursion plan before you step off, not while you're standing in the sun holding a towel and a grudge.
On the Bahamas loop, Celebration Key is Carnival's newer Grand Bahama destination and feels like a full resort day. Half Moon Cay, now branded RelaxAway, is the quieter beach day. It has reportedly had a new pier since June 2026, which should mean no more tendering. Nassau is the busiest and most commercial of the three, so decide in advance whether you're doing the town or fleeing it.
Which length suits whom
Pick the 6-night if you want a shorter trip with two very different ports and plenty of ship time. The Jubilee has BOLT, the WaterWorks slides and the Lido, and 5,374 passengers to share them with, so yes, there will be a line. Pick the 8-night if you want three Bahamas stops, with Nassau for the town and two beach-focused days, and you'd rather have two extra nights than a tidy schedule. It's the longer trip, and it's the one for people who complain that a week is never quite enough.
The seasonal quirks
Holidays shape this schedule. The Nov 22 sailing runs through Thanksgiving (Nov 26) and returns Nov 28. The Dec 18 sailing returns on Dec 26, and the Dec 26 sailing brings in New Year's Eve before returning Jan 3. On CruiseMapper's schedule, those three carry the highest advertised starting fares, because of course they do. Nov 22 shows $1,038, against $568–$868 for the other 6-nights. Dec 18 and Dec 26 show $1,240 and $1,762, against $861–$971 for the other 8-nights. CruiseMapper lists these as per-person fares based on double occupancy, so the figures are per person, not per cabin. Prices differ between sites and change daily, so check at booking. At the other end, the lowest advertised starting fares on that schedule are the early-December 6-nights: Dec 6 at $568 and Dec 12 at $577 per person.
What to pack
Bring swimwear, reef-friendly sunscreen and water shoes for the ports. Add a light rain jacket for October showers and a warm layer for Galveston mornings, especially on December sailings, when the departure port is the coldest place on the itinerary. Our Carnival Jubilee ship page covers the ship itself, and the food guide is worth a read before you pre-pay for anything. The ship's most recent CDC inspection, on March 7, 2026, scored 100 out of 100, and you can look up any ship in our inspection lookup.
