Wonder of the Seas spends this autumn doing the cruise equivalent of a long weekend with a very expensive sundress. She slips out of Miami at 4:30 p.m., gets you to a Bahamian beach or two, and has you back before most people have noticed you were gone. It’s quick, loud and sunny. Whether it’s right for you depends on what you want from it.
So let’s work out whether this ship, this region and this season suit you. The full departure list is on our Wonder of the Seas itineraries page. This article is about the decision.

The Ship’s Character and Who It Suits
Wonder is a floating small town with 18 decks, split into eight “neighborhoods”. Central Park is the open-air garden strip with real plants and restaurants wrapped around it. The Boardwalk has the AquaTheater. There’s a Royal Promenade, a Pool and Sports Zone, a spa, a kids’ zone and a suite neighborhood. For thrills she has the Ultimate Abyss, a 10-story dry slide, plus the Perfect Storm water slides and FlowRider surf simulators.
She moved to PortMiami in August 2025, after sailing week-long Eastern and Western Caribbean routes from Port Canaveral. Reviews from before the move describe a different ship doing a different job, so read them with a pinch of salt.
On short Miami sailings the crowd tends to be adult groups, first-time cruisers and celebration trips. That’s a general profile from one industry guide, not survey data, but it matches what a 3-night weekend departure usually looks like. If you want a taste of cruising, a friends’ getaway or a “we need a break” trip, she’s built for you. Families with older kids and teens will find plenty to burn energy on, because the ship is the main attraction.
She’s less ideal if you want quiet, a lot of ports or a slow pace. With 5,734 guests at double occupancy, you will meet queues. You may also want to check the ship’s sanitation record before you book. Her latest CDC Vessel Sanitation Program score is 99 out of 100, from 4 September 2026, and the pass mark is 86. You can look up any ship on our CDC inspection lookup, and the Wonder of the Seas ship page has the rest of her profile.
The Itineraries on Offer, and Which to Pick
The autumn pattern is simple. Four-night sailings leave on Mondays and run six times, from 2 November to 14 December. Three-night sailings mostly leave on Fridays, starting 6 November and running through to 21 December. There’s also one 7-night oddball on 9 November, covered below.
The 4-night sailings call at Nassau and Perfect Day at CocoCay, with one sea day. The order flips from week to week, according to third-party timetables. On 2, 23 and 30 November and 14 December, the ship reaches Nassau first and CocoCay last. On 16 November and 7 December it’s the reverse. The sea day falls early on some sailings and late on others.
The 3-night sailings are tighter. Most visit both CocoCay and Nassau. The one on 20 November is the “Perfect Day Getaway”, which per the timetable is CocoCay only, with a sea day on the Sunday.
Which should you pick?
- First cruise, or a limited budget or leave: the 3-night. It’s a Friday-to-Monday trip with minimal time off work.
- You want the ship as much as the islands: the 4-night. The sea day is when you can ride the slides without queueing for hours and eat somewhere nicer than the buffet.
- You want a quieter feel: try a 4-night. It runs Monday to Friday, which may suit fewer weekend-party types, though I haven’t seen data proving it.
- You love CocoCay: the 20 November Getaway gives you the island without Nassau.
About 9 November. Our own data has no port list for this 7-night departure, but the organiser publishes one. It’s the Bliss Cruise “Wonderland” charter: an adults-only (21+), couples-only cruise taking over the whole ship, and the organiser lists it as sold out. Bliss’s itinerary runs from Miami on 9 November through two sea days to Willemstad, Curaçao on 12 November (8 a.m. to 11 p.m.), then Oranjestad, Aruba on 13 November (7 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Two more sea days follow, and the ship returns to Miami at 7:30 a.m. on 16 November. So it isn’t a regular Royal Caribbean sailing you can book.
Times and port order for the regular sailings come from third-party timetables and can change, so confirm yours in the Royal Caribbean app before planning anything. The ports and times are on the Wonder of the Seas itineraries page.
The Ports and What’s Genuinely Worth Doing
Perfect Day at CocoCay
Port time on every sailing I checked is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., so ten hours. Royal Caribbean says there’s no admission fee, and most of the island is free. That includes the beaches at Chill Island and Breezy Bay and several water slides.
The paid extras are the Thrill Waterpark, the zip line, cabanas, the Coco Beach Club and the adults-only Hideaway Beach. Reported waterpark prices run from about $49 to $220 per person depending on source and date, so check the app for your sailing. If you only do one thing, go early and claim a spot before the beach fills.
Nassau
Time in port is 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on the sailings I checked. The Straw Market is steps from the terminal. The Queen’s Staircase (66 steps) leads up to Fort Fincastle, which dates to 1793 and has harbour views. It’s about a 13-minute walk from the port. One guide noted a temporary closure there in 2025 for renovation, so check before you go. Junkanoo Beach is a roughly 15-minute walk.
Royal Beach Club Paradise Island also opened in Nassau (first guests on 23 December 2025). Royal Caribbean describes two beaches, three pools and ten bars (three swim-up and seven beach bars), with complimentary ferry transport included in the day pass. It’s offered to guests sailing to Nassau, so it applies to Wonder’s Nassau calls, but entry needs a day pass. You can buy one in the Royal Caribbean app or My Royal Cruise before you sail, or at the Shore Excursions desk onboard if there’s space. What’s included varies by pass type and the price depends on your sailing, so check the app for your date. Passes can be refunded if you cancel at least 48 hours before your Nassau day.
The Junkanoo parades are on 26 December and 1 January, so they fall after this season.
Conditions and Packing for This Season
Atlantic hurricane season officially runs to 30 November. November risk is lower than in the peak months, but it isn’t zero, so a reroute or a skipped port is possible. Our timetable data shows several sailings running into December, when that official season has ended.
Temperatures are warm without being oppressive. Think highs around 80°F in the first half of November, easing to the low-to-mid 70s by December. These are rough guide figures, so check a forecast the week you sail. Evenings on deck can feel cooler once the wind picks up.
Pack:
- Swimwear, ideally two sets, because nothing dries on a short cruise.
- Water shoes for CocoCay.
- A light layer or wrap for the evenings and the air conditioning.
- A packable rain shell for passing showers.
- Reef-friendly sun cream, a hat and sunglasses.
- Some small Bahamian-dollar change for markets (the currency is pegged one-to-one to the US dollar).
Money and Where the Value Is
One agent listing advertised 4-night Wonder sailings from $426 per person, taxes and fees included. That’s about $106.50 per person per night, or $852 for two sharing. It’s a “from” price for the cheapest available date across many sailings, so don’t assume it’s your date’s price. Cabin, date and promotions move it a lot.
The extra is gratuities. Royal Caribbean charges $18.50 per person per day for standard staterooms (suites pay more). Over 3 nights that’s $55.50 per person, and over 4 nights it’s $74 per person. For a couple on a 4-night cruise, that’s $148 on top of the fare. Check the current rate before you pay, and see our ship page for more.
Where the value is:
- CocoCay’s free areas: the beach and slides cost nothing extra.
- The 4-night, if you want more ship per pound, because the sea day is the best part of the cruise.
- Smart drinks: on a short cruise, a full drinks package can cost more than it earns back. Do the sums for yourself.
- Wine from home: you can bring a limited amount at embarkation. See our guide to bringing alcohol on a cruise.
Timing: When to Book and What Sells Out
Today is 1 November. The 4-night sailing leaves tomorrow, and the 9 November charter is already sold out per the organiser. Anything left is now a short-notice booking.
Watch Thanksgiving. It’s 26 November, and the 4-night sailing leaving 23 November is at CocoCay that day, per the timetable. The 3-night leaving 27 November sails the Friday after. I haven’t seen fare data for these, but holiday weeks are where I’d expect prices to be highest and cabins to go first.
Friday 3-nights are the weekend product, so they probably fill fastest. If you’re flexible, the Monday 4-nights in early December are my pick for value, though that’s a hunch, not data. If you book at the last minute, expect fewer cabin choices and no room for changing your mind.
FAQ: Wonder of the Seas This Autumn
Is Wonder of the Seas good for a short cruise?
Yes, if the ship is the point. She has the slides, the AquaTheater and Central Park, so even a 3-night trip feels like a proper holiday. If you want to see many places, a short Bahamas run won’t give you that. Think of it as a resort that happens to float.
What ports does Wonder of the Seas visit from Miami in November?
The regular 3- and 4-night sailings call at Perfect Day at CocoCay and Nassau, in varying order. The 20 November 3-night is CocoCay only. The 9 November 7-night is an adults-only charter run by Bliss Cruise, visiting Curaçao and then Aruba. Port data for the regular sailings comes from third-party timetables, so confirm yours in the app.
Is November a good time to cruise the Bahamas?
Generally, yes. It’s warm, with highs around 80°F early in the month, and cooler by December. Hurricane season officially ends on 30 November. Risk drops through the month, but late storms can still happen. Check forecasts the week you sail and consider travel insurance.
How much is the daily gratuity on Royal Caribbean?
Royal Caribbean charges $18.50 per person per day for standard staterooms, with a higher rate for suites. That’s $55.50 per person on a 3-night cruise and $74 per person on a 4-night. Rates change, so check your booking. You can prepay them or adjust them on board.
Can you bring alcohol on Wonder of the Seas?
Beer and spirits are not allowed. Wine or champagne in 750 ml bottles is allowed at embarkation, but sources differ on whether that’s one bottle per adult or two per stateroom. Excess bottles are held by the ship. Confirm the current limit with Royal Caribbean before you pack.
Is Perfect Day at CocoCay free?
Entry is free, and most of the island is included, with the beaches and several slides at no extra cost. The Thrill Waterpark, zip line, cabanas, Coco Beach Club and adults-only Hideaway Beach cost extra. Waterpark prices have been reported anywhere from about $49 to $220 per person.
What is Wonder of the Seas’ CDC score?
Her latest CDC Vessel Sanitation Program score is 99 out of 100, from an inspection on 4 September 2026. Ships need 86 or above to pass. You can search any ship using our CDC inspection lookup.
The Bottom Line
Wonder of the Seas this autumn is a great pick for a short, sunny, ship-first getaway from Miami. It’s a poor pick if you want variety, calm or a wide choice of ports. Choose the 3-night for a quick weekend, or the 4-night for the sea day and a better pace. Book soon, because the autumn departures are running out.
