What Disney Treasure's Autumn Caribbean / Bahamas Season Is Actually Like
Fourteen Saturdays, one ship, and a very important question: which Caribbean are you actually getting? The first sailing leaves tomorrow, October 17, and the run goes through January 16. Every one is 7 nights from Port Canaveral. Here is what a Treasure week feels like in each stretch of that window, because "Disney Treasure in autumn" is two different cruises wearing the same mouse ears.
Check the port list for your date. Our port data shows the Western ports (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth and Castaway Cay) for these sailings. That's only half the story. The Mouse for Less calendar alternates Western and Eastern weeks, and Disney's own Thanksgiving page lists the November 21–28 sailing as a "7-Night Very Merrytime Eastern Caribbean Cruise." On that calendar, the sailings split like this:
- Western (Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth, Castaway Cay): Oct 17, Oct 31, Nov 14, Nov 28, Dec 12, Dec 26 and Jan 9.
- Eastern (Tortola plus St. Thomas or San Juan, then Castaway Cay): Oct 24, Nov 7, Nov 21, Dec 5, Dec 19, Jan 2 and Jan 16. San Juan is on the Nov 7 and Jan 16 sailings. The rest call at St. Thomas.
That's 7 Western and 7 Eastern, so roughly half of these sailings aren't going to Cozumel at all. One other listing shows the October sailings as all Western, so Oct 24 is the one to double-check. Disney can change itineraries, so confirm the route on your booking before you buy a single excursion.
The calendar, in plain English
| Sailing dates (all Saturdays) | What's going on |
|---|---|
| Oct 17, 24, 31 | Halloween on the High Seas. Third-party calendars list costume parties, trick-or-treating and villain meet-and-greets, so pack costumes. Yes, you too. |
| Nov 7 | No theme listed on The Mouse for Less calendar. It falls between Halloween and the holiday run, so it may be the calmest week. That's a guess, not a promise. |
| Nov 14 – Dec 19 | Very Merrytime sailings on The Mouse for Less calendar. Disney lists the Nov 21–28 sailing on its Thanksgiving at Sea page. Select sailings get Thanksgiving Day extras including a traditional turkey dinner, live football broadcasts and holiday décor. Thanksgiving Day itself is Nov 26, mid-voyage. |
| Dec 26 – Jan 16 | No theme listed. Dec 26 and Jan 2 fall in the school holidays, so expect them to be busy. |
Weather and sea conditions
The Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Its peak is behind us by now, but late-season storms still happen, and the western Caribbean is one of the places they can form in November. Disney can reroute or skip ports for weather, so treat any port as a probable stop, not a guaranteed one. Sorry, Mickey doesn't control the sky.
October is the soggy month in Cozumel. The weather2travel climate page gives an October average high of 88°F, with about 8.3 inches of rain over roughly 14 rainy days. November drops to about 84°F and 4.1 inches. December is about 82°F and 3.8 inches. Sea temperatures run about 84°F in October, 82°F in November and 81°F in December. That's bathwater with better PR. Expect showers that come and go, not weeks of grey. Those figures are for Cozumel only, so treat them as a rough guide for the Eastern ports, not a forecast.
What the ports are worth
Port hours vary by sailing and Disney can change them, so check the Navigator app or your booking for your exact times before you plan a day.
- Cozumel (Western): Reef snorkelling is the main draw, and the Mayan ruins at San Gervasio are the culture option.
- Grand Cayman (Western): This is a tender port. The ship anchors offshore and guests ride a small boat to George Town, about 10 to 15 minutes each way. Stingray City and Seven Mile Beach are the headline trips. Build the tender queue into your plans.
- Falmouth, Jamaica (Western): Dunn's River Falls and river tubing are the classic outings. Book through Disney or a vetted operator and leave a buffer for the walk back to the ship.
- Tortola (Eastern): Disney's excursion list includes Cane Garden Bay trips, one pairing a hike through Sage Mountain National Park with beach time and another a Ridge Road drive to Sky World with free time on the beach. It's a beach-and-views port more than a shopping one.
- St. Thomas (Eastern): Disney lists plenty of Magens Bay beach options, plus Coral World Ocean Park, Blackbeard's Castle and a long run of St. John trips. If you want a beach and a plan, this is the easy one.
- San Juan (Eastern, Nov 7 and Jan 16 only): Disney's excursion list includes an Old San Juan tour taking in Condado and Fort Del Morro. It's the one port on this list where you can happily wander on foot.
- Castaway Cay (both routes): Disney's private Bahamas island. It's the easy beach day and the one stop with no excursion planning.
On a Western sailing the pattern is roughly a sea day, three ports, another sea day, then Castaway Cay. That works out to two proper sea days for exploring a ship that carries 2,476 guests and 1,555 crew. We don't have a sea-day count for the Eastern sailings, so check your itinerary.
Who it suits, and what to pack
Every Treasure sailing listed here is 7 nights, so this is the ship for people who want the full run. If you only have a long weekend, Disney's Thanksgiving week lists 4-night Bahamian sailings on Wish and Fantasy from Port Canaveral and on Dream from Fort Lauderdale instead. Pack for the heat and for rain:
- A light rain jacket, because October showers are real.
- Reef-safe sunscreen, a swimsuit and water shoes for Falmouth or Magens Bay.
- A light layer for the air-conditioned dining rooms.
- Costumes if you're on a Halloween sailing.
Cabin size matters on a week-long trip, so read our cabin size guide before you book. Treasure's most recent CDC inspection, on February 17, 2026, scored 100 out of 100. You can check it against other ships with the CDC inspection lookup. For the ship's own details, see our Disney Treasure ship page.
