What Celebrity Beyond's Autumn Caribbean Season Is Actually Like

Autumn on Celebrity Beyond is a season of two halves. The first half is a lingering sniff of hurricane season, like a houseguest who really should have left by now. The second is the run-up to the holidays, when Florida suddenly remembers it's the place everyone wants to leave from. This 140,600-ton ship carries 3,260 passengers and 1,400 crew. She sails from both Miami and Fort Lauderdale: the 25 October departure leaves from Miami, and every sailing after it leaves from Fort Lauderdale. Pack your sense of direction accordingly.

The weather, without the brochure gloss

NOAA's National Hurricane Center says the Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. The peak is around September 10, with most activity between mid-August and mid-October, and storms sometimes turn up outside those dates. So the 25 October sailing leaves just after the busiest stretch, and the November departures sail in the final weeks of the season (the 29 November sailing even takes in the last day, 30 November). Cruisebound notes a secondary mid-October peak in the Caribbean Sea and Gulf of Mexico, and says both western and eastern Caribbean ports can see weather-related itinerary changes. In other words, a swapped port is the thing to plan around, not a reason to storm the Guest Services desk. Daytime highs across the Caribbean are commonly in the 80s°F, and showers are common and often brief.

What we can confirm about each sailing

Our own records don't hold port lists for the Fort Lauderdale departures, so the ports below come from the cruisetimetables.com timetables. Itineraries on these sailings do get changed, so confirm with Celebrity before you book.

Ship Tea's sailing data lists Basseterre, St. Kitts (Port Zante). Celebrity's itinerary page for this route, the cruisetimetables.com October timetable and Cruisebound list Philipsburg, St. Maarten (29 Oct, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). What the ports are really worth

  • Amber Cove: A cruise-built port with a short day. On the 25 October sailing you're in port from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. It's good for a beach and a pool, but don't expect culture. Bring the swimsuit, skip the history syllabus.
  • Tortola: A late arrival, at 12:30 PM, with departure at 7:00 PM. That's an afternoon of beaches, not a full island tour.
  • St. Maarten (Philipsburg): A fuller day than Tortola. You're in port from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on the 22 November sailing, and the 25 October sailing is listed from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM if it calls here (see the table above).
  • St. Kitts (Port Zante): On the 20 December sailing you're in Basseterre on 23 December from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, a ten-hour day.
  • Cozumel: A long, 13-hour day on the 18 November sailing, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM. That's practically a full-time job with better scenery.

Which length suits whom

The 4-night sailing is a long weekend with one port. It's a low-commitment way to test whether you like cruising, and it works well as a ship-focused break. The ship itself is the draw. Eden spans three levels at the aft, the Magic Carpet platform moves up and down the side, and the suites-only Retreat has its own sundeck. The 7-night sailings suit people who want island variety, and they include three or more port days. If you want the ship to be the main event, a balcony is worth the money, and our cabin size guide will help you pick.

Seasonal quirks

  • Thanksgiving: It falls on 26 November, in the middle of the 22–29 November sailing. That's your St. Maarten day, so you can have the turkey either side of Philipsburg.
  • Prices: They vary a lot by source, so compare before you book. Cruisebound lists the 18 November 4-night sailing from $381 per person for an interior cabin, and the 25 October 7-night sailing from $719 per person, both before taxes and port fees. That works out to roughly $95 per person per night on the 4-night and $103 on the 7-night, so the longer trip isn't wildly pricier per night. Those are "from" fares for the cheapest cabin type, so a balcony will cost more.
  • Christmas and New Year: The 20 December sailing has you in San Juan on 24 December (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM) and at CocoCay on 26 December (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM). On the 27 December sailing, the ship is in George Town, Grand Cayman, on 31 December from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, so New Year's Eve is a port day first. The ship sails at 4:00 PM, which leaves the countdown itself at sea.
  • Cleanliness: The ship's latest CDC Vessel Sanitation Program score is 95 out of 100, from the 9 August 2026 inspection. You can check the full report in our CDC inspection lookup.

What to pack

  • Light, breathable clothes for 80s°F days.
  • A compact rain jacket, since showers are common even if they're often brief.
  • Reef-friendly sunscreen and a hat, especially for Cozumel's 13-hour day on the 18 November sailing.
  • A swimsuit in your day bag for Amber Cove, where the 25 October call runs only from 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM, so there's no time to go back and change.
  • Water shoes for the beach ports, Amber Cove and CocoCay included.
  • Comfortable walking shoes for San Juan, where the 24 December call runs 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
  • A light layer for the air-conditioned venues.
  • Smart-casual evening clothes.
