What Carnival Conquest's Autumn Caribbean / Bahamas Season Is Actually Like
Here's the honest pitch for autumn on Conquest. She's a 2002-built, 110,239-ton, 2,984-guest workhorse. She spent 12 days in the Grand Bahama Shipyard dry dock in February 2026 and was back sailing from Miami by February 21. She is not a floating theme park, and she's not pretending to be. What you get is a freshly spruced-up ship (the new Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, a bigger casino with a non-smoking section, a redone Club O2 teen space and WAREHOUSE arcade, and refreshed shops) doing short, cheap, cheerful hops to the Bahamas. She also scored a 99 on her latest CDC inspection, on June 12, 2026. That's the kind of number you'd frame if you were a ship. If you like to poke around, our CDC inspection lookup shows what that number means.
The weather, minus the brochure gloss
October and November are still officially hurricane season, which runs through November 30. Yes, that's the fine print nobody reads until they're staring at a radar loop. The good news is that storms get steadily less likely as the weeks tick by. One Fox Weather analysis of 1950–2021 records found 34 named Atlantic storms in November, 21 of which became hurricanes. That works out to about one named storm every other November and a hurricane roughly every three years. Fox names the western Caribbean Sea off the coast of Central America as the most likely area for a November storm. It also lists elsewhere in the Caribbean, the southern and eastern Gulf of Mexico, waters off the southeastern U.S. coast, and the open central Atlantic as places they can form. So the Bahamas aren't a magic force field, and it's worth checking the forecast. In practice, expect warm, humid days with highs mostly in the 80s °F. Showers are brief and less frequent than in the summer peak. Sea temperatures in the Bahamas hover around 82°F in October, per one source. Rough seas are the bigger gamble. A cold front in November can make the Florida Straits lumpy, so sea-sick-prone folks should pack their remedy of choice. If a storm does show up, Carnival can reroute, so check the forecast the week you sail.
Which sailing suits whom
| Length | Ports (per booking-site listings) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 3 nights | Miami, Celebration Key, Miami | First-timers, "is cruising for me?" tests, long-weekend escapes |
| 4 nights | Miami, Half Moon Cay, Celebration Key, Miami | Beach people who want two island days and one sea day |
| 11 nights (Nov 2) | CruiseTimetables lists Miami, Oranjestad (Aruba), Kralendijk (Bonaire), Willemstad (Curaçao), Amber Cove, Grand Turk, Miami, with sea days on Nov 3, 4, 5, 9 and 12 | Veterans who want real distance and are happy with five sea days, three of them in a row right out of Miami |
Our own data has no port list for the 4- and 11-night sailings. The ports above come from third-party booking listings (CruiseTimetables for the 11-night, which has it returning to Miami on the morning of November 13), so confirm them with Carnival before you book. Carnival's own page for a different Conquest 11-night sailing, on January 11, 2027, shows a completely different route. Don't assume one 11-night cruise matches another.
What the ports are really worth
Celebration Key is Carnival's private Grand Bahama destination, roughly 20 miles east of Freeport. It opened in July 2025 and reported 2.4 million guests in its first year. That means plenty of company on the beach. Expect lagoons, water slides, a long stretch of sand and a heap of bars. It's a good day if you like your paradise organized. Half Moon Cay, on the 4-night sailings, adds a second beach day. Neither is a deep cultural dive, so go in wanting sun and a floaty.
The pricing quirk
Autumn is shoulder season, and the calendar shows it. When I checked one booking site, a Monday 3-night (Oct 26) started at $164 per person, interior, double occupancy, while the Friday 3-night (Oct 23) started at $412. That's more than double for the weekend. Thanksgiving is November 26, so the Monday-to-Friday 4-night leaving November 23 sails straight through the holiday, while the 3-night leaving Friday, November 27, departs the day after. Turkey on the Lido deck or leftovers at sea? Pick your drama. Just past this window, a 4-night on December 14 listed from $294 per person, against $663 on December 24. Fares move daily, so treat all of these as snapshots.
What to pack
- Swimwear, sunscreen and a hat. The sun is strong even when it's cloudy.
- A light rain jacket or poncho for passing showers.
- A light layer for breezy sea-day decks and cold dining rooms, since November evenings can feel cool.
- Water shoes, plus snorkel gear if you're taking the 11-night.
- Motion-sickness remedies, just in case.
Before you stock the cooler bag, read our guide to bringing alcohol on a cruise. For everything else about the ship, see the Conquest ship page.
