Who should skip it: Anyone expecting the newest bells and whistles — a 2007 build isn't going to have the sprawling entertainment complexes of Norwegian's newer fleet, and if you need a surf simulator and a go-kart track to feel like you're getting value, Norwegian Bliss is calling your name. But if you just want a clean, competent ship out of New York that won't make headlines for the wrong reasons, Norwegian Gem is quietly, boringly, impressively fine.
