The Tea
Port Everglades is PortMiami's slightly less famous but arguably more convenient sibling. Located in Fort Lauderdale, it's a 10-minute ride from FLL airport — which is genuinely close, unlike some ports that define "close" as "under two hours."
The port handles fewer passengers than Miami but still packs in four terminals' worth of cruise ships. The real advantage? Less chaos, easier parking ($19/day vs Miami's $22+), and Fort Lauderdale Beach is right there if you arrive early. The downside: the port area itself is sandwiched between industrial zones, so the views during embarkation are… tankers and container ships.
What they won't tell you: the $12-18 Uber from FLL is one of the best deals in cruising. Meanwhile, they'll happily charge you $200 for a "transfer package" that's literally the same ride.
