The Tea

Harvest Caye is Norwegian Cruise Line's private resort destination in Belize — and unlike the other private islands, it's attached to the mainland (technically a small island connected by bridge). This means you can actually book excursions into Belize from here, combining private island amenities with real-country exploration.

The resort complex includes a pool, a 15-acre beach, zip lines, and various water sports. It's well-maintained and offers the expected NCL experience. What sets it apart is the option to take a water taxi to Placencia, a charming beach village on the Belize coast.

The honest take: Harvest Caye is trying to have it both ways — private island comfort with mainland access. It mostly works. The facilities are nice, the beach is beautiful, and the Belize excursion options add genuine value. It's a smarter concept than a pure private island, even if the execution is still evolving.
