How Cruise Ship Bingo Works
This isn’t your grandma’s bingo (though she’s probably playing the actual bingo in the ship’s lounge right now). This is observational bingo—a game of spotting the classic cruise moments that happen on literally every voyage.
To play:
- Screenshot or print this page before your cruise
- Mark each square when you witness or experience that moment
- Five in a row (horizontal, vertical, or diagonal) = BINGO!
- Complete the entire card = You’ve officially had the authentic cruise experience
Play solo or compete with travel companions. Loser buys drinks at the pool bar.
The Official Ship Tea Cruise Bingo Card
Row 1: Embarkation Day Chaos
☐ Someone complains about the buffet (within 2 hours of boarding)
☐ Chair hog leaves towels at 6am and doesn’t return until noon
☐ Kid runs screaming through hallway like they’ve discovered freedom
☐ Someone’s already drunk at noon (vacation started at the airport bar)
☐ “We’re sailing away!” announcement triggers cheering
Row 2: Daily Life at Sea
☐ Elevator stops at every single floor going up AND down
☐ Someone walks past hand sanitizer ignoring the crew’s pleading eyes
☐ Couple argues about dinner reservations in the hallway
☐ Lost child announcement over the PA system
☐ “The casino is now OPEN!” announcement (same excited voice every time)
Row 3: The Classics
☐ Muster drill groaning from everyone who’s done this before
☐ FREE SPACE: Towel animal on bed (this one’s guaranteed)
☐ Bingo game with aggressive grandmas who take it VERY seriously
☐ Someone tries to smuggle alcohol and fails at security
☐ Formal night selfie chaos at the grand staircase
Row 4: Port Day Adventures
☐ “Ships ahoy!” excursion photo with matching family shirts
☐ Sunburn regret at dinner (lobster red, pretending they’re fine)
☐ Someone orders lobster every single night because it’s included
☐ Cruise director WAY too enthusiastic at 8am activities
☐ Jewelry store shopping talk infiltrates every conversation
Row 5: Final Days Reality
☐ Someone asks “what day is it?” with genuine confusion
☐ Future cruise desk temptation leads to “just looking”… then booking
☐ Tender boat waiting line drama with huffing and puffing
☐ “Sea day, best day” comment from fellow passenger
☐ Disembarkation sadness hits hard when reality returns

Complete one row by Day 1: Either a very eventful embarkation or you’re on a party ship
Complete entire card by Day 5: Congratulations, you’ve witnessed peak cruising
Complete entire card by Day 2: You’re either on Carnival’s “Fun Ship” or your ship is broken down and everyone’s coping differently
Variations to Try
Drinking Game Version (21+ only)
Take a sip of your beverage package drink every time you mark a square. Pace yourself—these moments happen faster than you think. Hydrate between rounds. The ship has excellent medical facilities but let’s not test them.
Family-Friendly Version
Winner gets to pick the next excursion, dinner restaurant, or show. Great for keeping kids engaged during sea days.
Couple’s Competition
Each person plays their own card. First to bingo picks the next cruise destination. Warning: may cause marital conflict at the pool bar.
Why These Moments Are Universal
There’s something beautiful about the predictability of cruise life. Whether you’re on a 3,000-passenger mega-ship or a 300-person boutique vessel, certain human behaviors emerge. The buffet complainer. The elevator rusher. The overly bronzed formal night photographer.
These aren’t criticisms—they’re celebrations of cruise culture. Every cruiser has been at least half of these squares at some point. We’ve all grabbed a towel too early, complained about something minor, and definitely asked what day it was by mid-cruise.
The magic of cruising is that thousands of strangers share a floating city for a week and somehow develop the same quirks, the same routines, the same bingo-worthy moments.
